Horseback Riding, Trail Rides, Cattle Drives, and Games

Riding - 50 Horses

The ranch owns over 50 horses to suit riders of every experience level. The horses have in common a rugged sure-footedness to carry you safely to and from the precipitous, breathtaking country surrounding the ranch in Shoshone National Forest and Washakie Wilderness.

Riding - Long Rides

Some rides can be long and arduous, depending on your taste for adventure. Our wranglers can tailor the speed of the rides to preferences and skills of the riders.

Riding - Morning and Afternoon

Typically, morning and afternoon rides are each from 1 to 3 hours long. Morning rides saddle up at 9:00 am, and afternoon rides at 2:00 pm.

Riding - Thursday and Sunday

On Thursday and Saturday, all-day rides for 4 to 8 hours are planned – often with a hot lunch packed along. Children 6 and older ride with a youth wrangler.

Riding - Half Day Rides

Half day rides are always offered as well, for those who might want to fish, hike, or just loaf for part of the day.

Riding - Friday Morning Gymkhana

Cutting Practice

A weekly highlight is the Friday morning Gymkhana – games on horseback for children (and kids at heart) – organized by the wranglers. T Cross generally has some young steers in the pasture – just the right size for dudes to practice their rodeo skills. Competition is friendly.

Riding - Pole Bending and Barrel Racing

Both horses and riders seem to enjoy pole bending and barrel racing in our arena.

Riding - Neighboring Ranches

Barrel Racing

During July and August, neighboring ranches often need help moving cattle to summer grazing pastures – and T Cross guests are ready to practice their cowboying.
