Wilderness Pack Trips
Pack Trips - Limited
Stepping Out on a Pack Trip
T Cross offers a limited number of overnight pack trips during July and August. Guests interested in pack trips should contact the ranch well in advance since our days in the national forests and wilderness are limited.
Pack Trips - Washakie Wilderness Camp
In 2005 T Cross established a Washakie Wilderness camp in Five Pockets, one of the most beautiful alpine meadows in the Absarokas. Five glacier-fed mountain streams converge here to form the headwaters of Horse Creek. From the Five Pockets base camp, ancient trails reveal vistas rarely seen. Our camp accommodates only 6 people at one time, so contact us early to reserve.
Pack Trips - 11,000 Feet
The trails and switch backs climb and descend through spectacular mountain passes - some exceeding 11,000 feet in elevation
Pack Trips - Meadow Campsites
Pack trip campsites are in beautiful, isolated mountain meadows.
Pack Trips - All Hands Pitch In
All hands pitch in to set up a camp, break it down, and pack up.
Pack Trips - Lunch on the Move
Lunch is generally on the move, but a young wrangler and her horse may take a lunch break on Twilight Plateau.
Pack Trips - Campfire Cooking
The campfire does double duty, warming both the pack trip crew and a Dutch oven supper.
