Birds are not the only wild life. The mountains around T Cross are home to, or a way station for, deer, moose, elk, coyote, mountain lion, lynx, bear, beaver, badgers, and wolves. Moose come to munch on the willows in the pasture.

Hiking - Bear, Mountain Lion, and Wolves

Bear pass through T Cross, especially in the spring, leaving signs and prints. Mountain lion are in the area, though extremely elusive. Yellowstone’s wolves are well established and are occasionally seen.
