Fly Fishing Heaven

Fly Fishing - Excellent

Fly Fishing on Horse Creek

Fishing is excellent the entire length of Horse Creek and in various lakes and creeks nearby. The only competition are the osprey, heron, and an occasional bald eagle – they know good fishing when they find it.

Fly Fishing - Horse Creek

Horse Creek

Horse Creek is a pristine mountain stream offering many miles of unpressured fishing. Its headwaters are in Five Pockets, an alpine meadow at about 9,500 feet. Anglers will find rainbow and brook trout, some cut throat, as well as medium-sized mountain white fish. While wonderful fishing can be had through the season, July through September offer the most consistent fly fishing conditions. A Wyoming Fishing License is mandatory and can be purchased at Whiskey Mountain Tackle and the Dubois Mercantile. T Cross staff can provide fishing instructions or direction to likely pools.

Fly Fishing - Catch and Release

Fly-fishing is preferable, though young children may use spinning reels with a small bubble and hook. The ranch’s policy is catch-and-release.
