Dude Ranch Rodeo | Dubois, Wyoming Rodeo

Experience the entertainment of the West. Friday nights offer a full evening for spectators and local participants. The Dubois Rodeo has cooked up three exciting events especially for ranch guests.

The Ranch Ribbon Roping includes all ages. Teams of three are needed to register for the event. A calf is released into the open arena with a ribbon attached to its tail and a long rope around its neck. The goal is to chase down the calf, grab the dragging rope, remove the rope, remove the ribbon, and run it back to the starting line. Bring your camera to capture the event you will never forget.

The Scoop Shovel Races are also geared for all ages. This event includes a wrangler and guest duo. While sitting in the scoop of a shovel, a whistle blows: the wrangler must rope the shovel handle. You are now dallied to a fast moving saddle horse mustered with a whole lotta ambition to cross the finish line first. Best wishes!

Mutton Busting is a miniature bare-back riding event, using sheep instead of horses. Children under the age of six can participate, while parents white-knuckle a full eight seconds.

There's nothing quite like the excitement of a real rodeo, with skilled cowboys and cowgirls competing. You'll gain a whole new appreciation for riding, roping, and cheering!
