Pack Trips

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to watch a pack string go over a high mountain pass with nothing but a comfortable tent, a good sleeping bag, and a few solid meals – the essentials?
Well, this is pack tripping. This is real.

There is no plot, there is no schedule, just wherever the horse and you want to go. Pack tripping is about exploring, setting off alone in the wilderness, getting away from it all. You can set all alone on a grassy peak and admire any vista, toss rocks in a clear lake or just ride all day. It’s what the mountain men did – load up your horse and see what’s over the next mountain range.

But it isn’t the wild places that you really discover, it’s yourself. Somewhere between the late night crackle of the campfire and the morning’s frosty sunrise, nature finds you again and doesn’t let go.
T Cross offers a limited number of pack trips during July and August. We customize our pack trips to best fit your experience. Whether you are a first timer or a veteran, we can offer a 100-mile progressive or an overnight at base camp trip.
